My Friend’s Place began in 1988 as a volunteer-led, mobile meal program that distributed lunches to homeless youth in Hollywood. The organization has since grown into a dynamic resource center offering programs to meet the existing and emerging needs of more than 1,400 youth each year, supporting youth on their journeys toward lives of wellness, stability, and self-sufficiency. My Friend’s Place engages youth through three high-impact program areas: the Safe Haven Program, providing daytime shelter and basic needs; the Transformative Education Program, providing education, employment-readiness, and creative arts programming; and the Health and Well-Being Program providing medical, mental health, and case management services. The underlying goal for My Friend’s Place is to provide an inclusive space to build trust with homeless youth and lower the barrier to access vital programs and permanently exit homelessness.
