Spotlight: Proyecto Pastoral

Proyecto Pastoral (Proyecto) was founded in 1986 by Father Greg Boyle, S.J. and parishioners of Dolores Mission to empower the community of Boyle Heights through grassroots projects in education, leadership, and service. The origins of Proyecto were a community response to poverty, gang violence, low educational attainment for youth, and limited civic engagement opportunities for residents of Boyle Heights. Today, Proyecto serves more than 6,000 community residents annually through a range of programs in early childhood education, youth development, civic engagement, and homelessness.
